Broken Heart (a digital poem)

by Nathan Lamarre

Sonnets for the Heartbroken
A love unrequited, what has not been;

Feelings unabided came all along

When I saw this event, passion within

Turnèd rancorous in this lasting song.

Lyrical affliction lasting tonight,

Anguish courses inside ev’ry pained vein,

Leading to further undesirèd flight:

Of course on life, I no longer hold rein.

But what now of those feelings of heartache?

Do I truly wish them to be my end?

Mental capabilities seem to break,

With this will of mine now seeming to bend;

And thus to all mine eyes will surely see:

End of us, and the cessation of me.
